I’m rushed for time, so this is just a quickie…
Today I got stuck in an airport, so I picked up the item on the right at a book stand and flipped through it for comic relief.
Schiff has spent years telling you that the world is about to end, and that the only way you can save yourself is to give him your money. Every one of his books, articles, videos, and TV appearances are infomercials for Schiff’s brokerage, EuroPacific Capital (which has some of the highest fees in the market.)
Some gems from this book…
> He claims that he alone predicted the housing bubble crash (even through everyone knows that all bubbles burst). He claims that his “prediction” was the inspiration for the movie The Big Short.
> As always, he claims that the USA is on the verge of hyperinflation
> As always, he claims that in the “near future,” gold will trade at $5,000 per ounce. (Therefore you need to buy gold now through Schiff).
> As always, he claims that the U.S. government is about to “default on its debt.”
> Schiff wants to abolish minimum wage, and privatize the national highway system, making every freeway a toll road owned by the rich.
> On pages 206 and 210 he claims that doctors would treat poor patients “as a matter of charity,” but they don’t because of Medicaid. Therefore in order to make sure that poor people get medical care, we must abolish Medicaid.
Every single one of Schiff’s predictions have been wrong (except the housing bubble thing, which was not a prediction, but a mundane observation) and yet he still manages to reel in the suckers, and get TV appearances.
Fear sells, aye?
I heard that now Schiff is expanding into a new market…
